Los romanos llamaban vehiculatio al impuesto para mantenimiento del correo y vector era \u2018el que arrastra o lleva\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 Esta palabra fue incorporada al diccionario de la Academia en 1739, pero como t\u00e9rmino m\u00e9dico, definido as\u00ed: \u2018Vaso, o instrumento interior en el cuerpo, que conduce, y lleva los humores \u00e1 diversas partes d\u00e9l\u2019, y tambi\u00e9n como \u2018aquel medicamento, u simple, que mezclan con otros, y tiene virtud de introducirlos, y repartirlos por el cuerpo\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 Se aplica tambi\u00e9n, por extensi\u00f3n, a todo aquello que transmite algo, principalmente de una persona a otra: El lenguaje es el veh\u00edculo de las ideas o el mosquito Aedes aegypti es veh\u00edculo del dengue.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 En otras lenguas, la voz veh\u00edculo se ha adaptado as\u00ed: en portugu\u00e9s, ve\u00edculo;
