Los chimpanc\u00e9s poseen una enzima que a\u00f1ade un \u00e1tomo de ox\u00edgeno a la mol\u00e9cula de \u00e1cido si\u00e1lico, produciendo una forma hidroxilada llamada Neu5Gc. En cambio, los seres humanos no expresan esta forma modificada del citado \u00e1cido. El gen humano qued\u00f3 inactivo al perder 92 bases en las poblaciones humanas, en cambio los chimpanc\u00e9s y todos sus cong\u00e9neres africanos poseen una versi\u00f3n de ese gen totalmente funcional. Tal vez ello explique por qu\u00e9 fracasaron los trasplantes renales de chimpanc\u00e9 a humanos, intentados a comienzos de los a\u00f1os &#8217;60 ya que el sistema inmunol\u00f3gico humano detecta de inmediato el car\u00e1cter ajeno de estos \u00f3rganos. El cromosoma 6 contiene tambi\u00e9n un grupo de genes vinculados al Sistema HLA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>**Cromosoma 11:<\/strong> En \u00e9l se ha ubicado el gen comprometido en la ataxia telangectasia, misteriosa enfermedad recesiva que afecta a una de cada 50 mil personas y se caracteriza por una ataxia (trastorno del equilibrio), un mayor riesgo de contraer c\u00e1ncer de mama en las mujeres y una extrema sensibilidad a los rayos X. Tambi\u00e9n se encuentra comprometido con el c\u00e1ncer de colon y se lo cita vinculado con la psicosis y el autismo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fuente: Diccionario Cient\u00edfico
