Un equipo de investigadores descubri\u00f3 que, si las actividades aer\u00f3bicas son complementadas con entrenamiento de la fuerza y, si se hacen ambas semanalmente con regularidad, el riesgo de mortalidad temprana es menor. La muestra que sirvi\u00f3 de base para dicho estudio, publicado en The British Journal of Sport Medicine (2022), y que permiti\u00f3 demostrar la importancia de realizar con regularidad trabajo aer\u00f3bico y entrenamiento de la fuerza en la longevidad y la salud general de las personas mayores, estuvo representada por 416.420 adultos norteamericanos reclutados entre 1997 y el 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A los participantes en este estudio se les solicit\u00f3 que completaran cuestionarios en los que detallaran los tipos de actividad f\u00edsica que realizaban, lo que inclu\u00eda especificar cuanto de ellas correspond\u00edan a ejercicios moderados o vigorosos, junto con el n\u00famero de sesiones de entrenamiento de fortalecimiento muscular hac\u00edan a la semana.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Despu\u00e9s de procesar todas las informaciones recogidas, los investigadores descubrieron que las personas que realizaban una hora de actividad aer\u00f3bica de moderada a vigorosa a la semana ten\u00edan un riesgo de mortalidad un 15% menor que las sedentarias; si hac\u00edan tres horas a la semana el riesgo era un 27% menor, y aquellas que adem\u00e1s inclu\u00edan una o dos sesiones de entrenamiento de la fuerza a la semana ten\u00edan un riesgo a\u00fan inferior a un 40% con relaci\u00f3n a los que no hac\u00edan ning\u00fan tipo de ejercicio.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Aunque siempre es necesario seguir investigando al respecto, los expertos concuerdan en que el entrenamiento de la fuerza regular puede reportar importantes beneficios para un envejecimiento saludable y la calidad de vida de las personas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Al respecto, Bruce Mosely, cirujano ortop\u00e9dico del Baylor College of Medicine se\u00f1al\u00f3 que: \u201cuna persona que tiene buena fuerza muscular, funcionar\u00e1 a un nivel m\u00e1s alto y durante m\u00e1s tiempo\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 La fuerza muscular es necesaria para una serie de actividades cotidianas, entre otras: caminar de un lugar a otro, subir y bajas escaleras, transportar las compras, hacer tareas en el jard\u00edn, jugar con los nietos, tomarlos en brazos. Sin embargo, la capacidad muscular se pierde progresivamente a medida que se envejece, y en las personas sedentarias empieza a m\u00e1s temprana edad. No obstante, se pueden evitar o aplazar los efectos negativos con un entrenamiento adecuado de la fuerza regular.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 En conclusi\u00f3n, es recomendable para quien quiera mantenerse sano, autovalente y gozar de una buena calidad de vida, realizar actividad f\u00edsica en forma regular, pero no exclusivamente actividades aer\u00f3bicas, sino, tambi\u00e9n combinadas con ejercicios generales de fortalecimiento muscular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\"
