En el lenguaje corriente se emplea principalmente con el significado causar intensa admiraci\u00f3n, como vemos en este fragmento de Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez en El amor en los tiempos del c\u00f3lera (1987):<\/p>\n<p>S\u00f3lo pas\u00f3 por el pueblo de Flores de Mar\u00eda, donde no hab\u00eda estado en el viaje anterior porque no pensaba que pudiera gustarle, pero cuando lo conoci\u00f3 se qued\u00f3 fascinada.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Este vocablo se deriva del verbo latino fasc\u012dnare,\u00a0 \u2018hechizar\u2019, \u2018embrujar\u2019. Hacia fines del siglo XV, la palabra no era reconocida como voz castellana, puesto que Nebrija (1495) menciona la forma latina sin darle un equivalente castellano, lo que muestra que, para los romanos, fascinar y las palabras de esa familia ten\u00edan un significado m\u00e1s esot\u00e9rico que el que les damos hoy en d\u00eda. Sin embargo, en el siglo XVI s\u00ed se la vinculaba con creencias no demasiado naturales. Juan de Sol\u00f3rzano, en su Pol\u00edtica Indiana, se refiere a propiedades del azogue o mercurio, tales como evitar la fascinaci\u00f3n o mal de ojo y otros efectos medicinales.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Gangrena<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Muerte de los tejidos por falta de irrigaci\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea, generalmente a causa de una herida que se infect\u00f3 y entr\u00f3 en putrefacci\u00f3n; se trata de una patolog\u00eda que se presenta acompa\u00f1ada de una decoloraci\u00f3n caracter\u00edstica.<\/p>\n<p>Entre los factores de riesgo se cuentan la diabetes mellitus, enfermedad arterial perif\u00e9rica, congelaci\u00f3n, infecci\u00f3n por cierto tipo de estreptococos, entre otros.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 El tratamiento incluye cirug\u00eda para la eliminaci\u00f3n del tejido muerto, lo que supone cirug\u00eda, en algunos casos amputaci\u00f3n, antibi\u00f3ticos y, con frecuencia, terapia con ox\u00edgeno hiperb\u00e1rico.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 La palabra proviene del lat\u00edn gangr\u0101\u0113na, del mismo significado, y este, del griego \u03b3\u00e1\u03b3\u03b3\u03c1\u03b1\u03b9\u03bd\u03b1 (g\u00e1ggraina) que, a su vez, proven\u00eda del indoeuropeo gras- \u2018devorar\u2019, que es lo que hace esta terrible enfermedad con los tejidos.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div
