Forma parte de una ambiciosa serie (se esperan al menos seis libros) que narra &#8220;la verdadera historia&#8221; de uno de los personajes m\u00e1s influyentes de la historia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sinopsis oficial (sin spoilers mayores) &#8211;\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Roma, a\u00f1o 77 a.C.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0El cruel y poderoso senador Cneo Cornelio Dolabela (aliado del dictador Sila) enfrenta un juicio por corrupci\u00f3n y abusos cometidos en la provincia de Macedonia. Ha comprado al jurado, cuenta con los mejores abogados defensores (como Hortensio y Aurelio Cota) y es temido por su violencia contra cualquiera que se le oponga. Su nombre es Cayo Julio C\u00e9sar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La novela combina:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0La trama principal en el presente (el juicio de Dolabela en el 77 a.C.), mostrando el funcionamiento de los tribunales romanos, la corrupci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica, las intrigas y los peligros de desafiar a las \u00e9lites.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Numerosos flashbacks (analepsis) que recorren la infancia y juventud de C\u00e9sar: su educaci\u00f3n, su relaci\u00f3n con su madre Aurelia (quien le inculc\u00f3 desde ni\u00f1o que descend\u00eda de Venus y estaba destinado a liderar Roma), su admiraci\u00f3n por su t\u00edo Cayo Mario (l\u00edder de los populares y siete veces c\u00f3nsul), su amistad con Tito Labieno, su gran historia de amor con Cornelia (su primera esposa), y el contexto de las luchas pol\u00edticas entre optimates y populares, con figuras como el temido Sila.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Posteguillo reconstruye con gran rigor hist\u00f3rico una Roma brutal, corrupta y fascinante: calles peligrosas, sicarios, juicios ama\u00f1ados, ambici\u00f3n desmedida y violencia pol\u00edtica constante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Temas y estilo<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0El libro se centra en los or\u00edgenes del mito: c\u00f3mo un joven valiente (\u00bfo imprudente?), idealista y brillante comienza a forjar su destino desafiando al poder establecido. No es el C\u00e9sar conquistador de las Galias ni el dictador, sino el hombre joven que a\u00fan cree que la justicia y los tribunales pueden cambiar Roma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
